Essential Bomber Jacket | Spiewak WWII Jacket

Spiewak | B15A Flight Jacket

Made by Spiewak, the same company that supplied the U.S. Army Air Force pilots in WWII.  This model is a replica of the B15A flight jackets the Spiewak family made for the USAAF pilots of WWII.  In cotton with authentic mouton collar, acrylic pile lining, exterior and interior welt pockets, a quilted wind placket, leather patches for air hose and radio clips, and embroidered USAAF arm patch, this is a truly sweet jacket for this crazy weather.  Its light enough to wear during these 60 degree days and perfect enough for when it gets too cold.  Plus, the jacket is made in the USA.

Essential | Timex Watch

So for all you who don't know, I love watches, especially collecting them.  I love it even more when I come across something so unusual and rare that most do not see as a collectible.  I guess you can say "what is one man's trash, is another man's treasure," completely applies to me.

In my search for unique items at the Portebello Market, I came across this rare specimen.  This here is a vintage winding Timex made in Great Britain.  There are some still around but very rare to come across.  Goes to show Timex's are true workhorse watches.  I love this thing!

Essential Find | Vintage University Scarves

Purple, Yellow, and Black Scarve: University of Manchester, UK
Red, Yellow, and Black Scarve: Cirencester College, UK

I was in London's Portobello Market recently and happen to be rifling through some of the many antiques stands. While there I stumbled upon these 1950's Striped Wool University Scarves made of double thickness pure wool. These scarves are truly an amazing specimen from an era of craftsmanship, and its a reminder that they just don't make things like they use to.
